Note: Remember to draw margins around your drawings as described in Lesson 33.

Children study the top image of the rug and complete the following drill work:

1. Black. Paint entirely with black.
2. Black, Red and Green. Place a graded wash of red over the whole. Place a wash of green over the border and make the band and stripes with red and black.
3. Brown, Red and Green. Make the body and band green; the band, border, stripes, and margins red. Place a graded wash of brown over the whole.
4. Brown, Yellow and Violet. Place a graded wash of brown over the whole. Place a wash of yellow over the body and band, and a wash of yellow over the band and border. Make the stripes and margins violet.

Children study the bottom image of the four landscapes and complete the following drill work:

1. Black. Paint entirely with black.
2. Color each picture in a color scheme of your choosing.
3. Color each picture in a second color scheme of your choosing.
